In today’s technology-driven world, more companies are looking to leverage automation and online tools to streamline their onboarding process. It’s a noble effort, but it’s very easy to create a process that is cold and impersonal—a poor experience for any candidate. That’s why, at PrideOne, we make an effort to bring warmth and personability back to onboarding, delicately balancing cutting-edge technology with good old-fashioned human connections.
Our competitors often tout the fact that a worker can be onboarded without ever talking to a person, but they’re just bragging that they’ve taken away a critical part of good candidate experiences. Starting a new job is a massive moment in someone’s life, right up there with buying a house, getting married, or having children. We approach this part of the process with reverence it deserves: every single person joining the PrideOne team gets a phone call from one of our program specialists.
During this call, we walk the candidate through the process, set expectations, and confirm key details of their assignment. We’ve found that this single step helps create a foundation of trust and connection which lasts throughout the assignment. The candidate can then complete their onboarding paperwork via our modern and secure online portal, expediting the busywork. This can be done at their convenience, but our program specialists make themselves available to help with any questions or concerns.
We also disagree that our job stops when the assignment begins, though! After onboarding, our Contractor Care team springs into action and begins a series of 1:1 check-in meetings that set everyone on the payroll up for success. They’ll ask questions like “Do you feel like your team has been welcoming?” and “Do you have all the tools you need to do your job?” If we receive any concerning feedback, we can flag it to the client for corrective action.
Listening and being accessible to contractors isn’t quantum physics. It’s simply the best practice: they really do want to hear from you! Technology can create tremendous leverage and efficiencies, but it is critical that it doesn’t compromise the human experience.
